Bartending is such an awesome job! Once you get a few months of experience – you can pretty much write your own ticket.

I want to make it perfectly clear here that I do not teach flair bartending, craft bartending and all that other “stuff.” We’re real here.

Some bars will have the absolute minimum types of glasses on hand – others go all out. They will also stick with a certain size for everything. All bars are different!

Bar sanitation is important. Vitaly important. To customers, employees – and especially that pesky Bar Health Inspector. All bartenders need to take sanitation seriously.

The bartender’s “tools of the trade,” are used for efficiency, speed, and presentation. No bartender can be at his best without them.

No exceptions, all of the health inspectors I have encountered are extremely professional and proficient. Nice people, and if you ask them – they’ll provide you with some extra tips on staying within the law and local health codes.

Bartenders wash a lot of bar glasses. 100’s of glasses each and every shift. There is a right way to accomplish this task – and a whole lot of wrong ways to get it done.

What is a tip pool? Management has a tipping system where all tipped employees pool ALL tips, and then the “system” redistributes these tips between all employees.

You’re going to run across some really cool people while working behind the bar. And some that aren’t so cool. You have to know how to handle all of your customers and provide each and every one of them with great customer service.
